I was reading through 1&2 Samuel and 1&2 Kings a little over a year ago. I was completely captivated in study and searching the scriptures upon reading 1 Kings 8 and 9, when Solomon dedicates the temple to the LORD.

1 Kings 8:28 says "But will God indeed dwell on earth? Heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, much less this house which I have built."

Later, in 1 Kings 9:3, the Lord responds to King Solomon and says,

The LORD said to him, "I have heard your prayer and your supplication, which you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built by putting My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.


The New Testament calls the believer in Christ the temple of God, the dwelling place of His Holy Spirit. Knowing this, I read through these passages with wides eyes and heart, picked up my guitar not long after, and out came this song. Hope it blesses you.
